Around the Open Mics: Music fills Seventh Avenue again on Thursday nights

open mics

KENOSHA ⸺ With two open mics now off and running, music again fills Seventh Avenue in Downtown Kenosha on Thursday nights.

A playlist of two songs and one poetic performance. Note: The poetic performance contains strong language. However, the Observer is a platform for Black voices, and thus, we are happy to share it with those who choose to listen. Video by/property of Daniel Thompson/The Uptown Observer.

Last week, Public Craft Brewing Co. resurrected its Thursday night open mics. Unlike the original, pre-COVID-19 mic, performers do not have to sing all original songs this time around.

As a result, audiences focused on a mix of music, poetry and even comedy throughout the night at Public and Kenosha Creative Space.

Take a look back on the eclectic mix in the video playlist above or the gallery below.
