KENOSHA ⏤ After six overdoses in about as many days, the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department has a message. And that message is clear and simple: Do not take medication you are not prescribed.
Emergency personnel responded to the six overdoses during the week of March 30 through April 4, 2021. As a result, both deputies and detectives investigated what was causing such volume of overdoses in a short time, with opioids being the culprit.
“Upon the arrival of deputies, the individuals in these cases were not conscious or breathing and were revived with ‘Narcan‘ which is a narcotic antagonist used to counteract the effects of opioids,” a Monday department release said.
Some of the people deputies revived with Narcan also told them they had consumed Xanax bars and oxycodone pills.
