KENOSHA ⏤ Waking up Monday morning, the sun’s light hit Kenoshans with warmer temperatures and, overall, a beautiful beginning to the work week.

As a result, the Uptown Observer‘s stringer Jordan Pauley rose up early today to capture the sun rising on the city.

Please, take a look at his photos below.

Alderman proposing mask mandate extension

Dist. 2 Ald. Bill Siel is proposing extending the sunset of the city’s mask mandate as a precautionary measure against the COVID-19 pandemic.

The City Council originally set the mandate to expire on March 31.

Siel will introduce the ordinance during tonight’s Public Safety & Welfare Committee meeting at 5 p.m. Residents can virtually attend the meeting by dialing 312 -626-6799 or 646-558-8656, and entering meeting ID 939 0967 8350.

The new ordinance would extend the mask mandate until July 31, 2021, “unless extended or earlier terminated or modified by the Common Council.”

You can read about the provisions of the city’s mask mandate, currently in effect, in the Observer’s previous report on the mandate.
