K9 shot, deputies return fire

After initiating a stop with the vehicle, the driver fled on foot. Deputies released the sheriff’s department K9 to track the suspect. During that chase, the man shot the department’s K9 officer, Wright stated in a release.

Deputies then shot the suspect, immediately giving him first aid and transporting him to an area hospital for his injuries.

While the suspect’s identity is being withheld, the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department stresses he is a “male white suspect,” in a press release on the incident.
