ICYMI: Organizers hold first-ever Kenosha Orgullo Hispano (Hispanic Heritage) Festival

KENOSHA ⏤ For the first time, organizers hosted Kenosha’s Hispanic Heritage (Orgullo Hispano) Festival, which packed the area around Kenosha Creative Space on Sept. 17.

Midwest DJ Productions, Lomeli Butcher Shop and also Kenosha Creative Space joined together to put the festival on. As a result, the inaugural Festival Orgullo Hispano filled downtown with dancing and music from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m.

“The Festival Orgullo Hispano ⏤ Hispanic Heritage Fest ⏤ is an opportunity to celebrate all the contributions Hispanics have made to our community in the past and will continue to make in the future,” organizers said.

At the Hispanic Heritage Festival

The green field next to Kenosha Creative Space was absolutely packed last Friday.

A number of vendors lined the outside perimeter of the grass area. Loads of residents also poured into the area to celebrate Hispanic heritage throughout the day.

Just outside of the entrance, Kenosha County Public Health personnel also even manned a booth to give information to attendees.

As it began, Miss Wisconsin Belleza Latina Gabby Perez Ramos welcomed everyone to the event, also sharing a few words about its meaning.

Later on, the taco-eating contest had all the children screaming.

In short, the event gave all something to enjoy.
