In January, Kenosha County District Attorney Michael Graveley also chose not to charge Sheskey with a crime.
Sheskey followed current policy
Sheskey “acted within the law and was consistent with training,” an investigating agency outside the KPD determined.
“This incident was also reviewed internally,” Miskinis said in a released statement. “Officer Sheskey was found to have been acting within policy and will not be subjected to discipline.”

As of March 31, Sheskey is also back on active duty with the department after returning from administrative leave.
Jacob Blake remains paralyzed from the waist down as a result of the shooting.
Miskinis knows there is disappointment
While there will be no disciplinary action, Miskinis knows that there are a number in the community that will be disappointed at the outcome.
“Although this incident has been reviewed at multiple levels,” he said, “I know that some will not be pleased with the outcome; however, given the facts, the only lawful and appropriate decision was made.”
