Observer On The Scene: Wisconsin 7 finish 22-day fast, promise continued push for green energy

KENOSHA ⏤ On Friday, the group known as the Wisconsin 7 finished a 22-day fast to pressure the state Legislature to pass Gov. Tony Evers’ climate justice initiatives in the 2021-2023 state budget.

As a result, the group joined together to end their fast right where it began on March 4: In front of Grace Lutheran Church, 2006 60th St., in the Uptown neighborhood.

Friday morning, with smiles on their faces, a visibly thinner Wisconsin 7 shared their thoughts on their 22-day journey, and also the road yet ahead.

Watch six of the seven ⏤ and their medical supervisor, Dr. Kevin Fullin, ⏤ give their remarks during the March 26 press conference in the video above, beginning near the 22-minute mark.

Unfortunately, Tory Lowe, the group’s seventh member, was unable to attend Friday’s event.

The group, in total, includes:

  1. Grace Lutheran Pastor Jonathan Barker;
  2. Jill Ferguson;
  3. Vaun Mayes;
  4. Joe Cardinali;
  5. Andy Berg;
  6. Justin Blake;
  7. And Tory Lowe
