Williams Bay man killed in Kenosha County crash

TOWN OF PARIS ⏤ A multi-vehicle crash in Paris killed a 41-year-old Williams Bay man this morning, Feb. 19.

According to a release from Sgt. David Wright of the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department, deputies, detectives and multiple fire and rescue personnel responded to the accident at 7:19 a.m. Friday.

The response included personnel from Paris, Bristol, Somers and Union Grove at the intersection of Highway 12 and U.S. 45.

According to the department release, a 2007 Dodge Caliber driving northbound on U.S. 45 failed to stop at a 4-way stop. As a result, the Caliber struck the passenger side of a 2010 Chevy Traverse on its passenger side. At the time of impact, the Traverse was heading eastbound.

Emergency personnel took the 41-year-old Williams Bay man, who was in the Caliber, to Froedtert Hospital in Pleasant Prairie for treatment.

However, he later died at the hospital from his injuries.

Second crash, other injuries

The sheriff’s department identified the driver of the Traverse as a 27-year-old Kenosha man. The crash injured that man and three of his four passengers. An ambulance transported them to an area hospital for treatment.

Detectives determined the Traverse struck a third vehicle ⏤ a 2006 Chevy Malibu ⏤ after the Caliber collided into it.

As a result, emergency personnel also transported the driver of the Malibu, a 33-year-old Kenosha woman, to the hospital with minor injuries.

Deputies did not detect any intoxicants on any of the drivers involved in the crash, the release states.

The sheriff’s department is currently withholding the deceased man’s name as they notify family.

However, the investigation into the crash is ongoing.

The department encourages anyone with information on the crash to contact the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department Detective Bureau at 262-605-5102.
